Detroit Lions mock draft (Add on to my mock free agency.)

1st round pick 29 TJ Tampa CB Iowa State: As you may have noticed from my mock free agency for Detroit https://t.co/oXUOqLrphr I did not re-sign Emmanual Moseley or sign a new CB. I am a fan of TJ Tampa he has good size at 6'2 200 pounds. He also has good arm length and he has good numbers. He only allowed 240 yards and 1 touchdown last season good for a 54.8 rating. He also had 2 interceptions to boot. While he is raw compared to the likes of Kool-Aid McKinstry, Tarrion Arnold, and Cooper DeJean I still believe Tampa would be a good cornerback one

Round 2 pick 61 Ricky Pearsall WR Florida: Pearsall is another draft crush of mine I decided to draft him for a couple of reasons. 1. I believe we are in a luxury position to do so. 2. JAMO has yet to prove himself as a consistent weapon. I believe drafting Pearsall would be a win even if JAMO works out. Pearsall is a good route runner with great hands and could be a legit outside WR for the Lions.

Round 3 pick 73 DeWayne Carter DT Duke: The Lions make another investment to their DL. Carter is a fun addition. Carter has a nice size at 6'3 305 pounds. He also has 11 sacks in the last 3 seasons. He also had 35+ tackles in the last two seasons. Carter is someone who has good potential in the passing game and is good vs the run.

Round 3 pick 92 Trevor Keegan OG Michigan: The Lions get a Wolverine offensive guard duo with this pick. In my mock off-season, the Lions let go of Jonah Jackson and bring back Glasgow. The Lions lose out on Zach Zinter but get Keegan who is also a mauler himself. Keegan allowed one QB hit this season and 0 sacks on 360 pass-block snaps. Keegan is 6'6 320 pounds. He also was great in the National Championship game where had 0 pressures allowed and had a 74.7 run block grade according to PFF.

Round 5 pick 162 overall Javon Foster OT: In my off-season I also let Matt Nelson go and even if the Lions let him come back I think Foster would be a better player than Nelson. Foster is the only player in college football to have an 80+ grade in both pass and run blocking grade from PFF. He also played in the SEC and could be a nice project player who could be a future starting tackle.

Round 6 pick 206 overall Joshua Karty K: The Lions have never had a good kicker in the Brad Holmes era. The Lions have sorely missed Matt Prater and have lost multiple games due to having a bad kicker. Karty was great in the senior bowl and kicked at 85% last season and had 100% of his kicks made the season before. He has been perfect from 40-49 and was drilling long kicks in the senior bowl and is 70% from 50+ in the last two seasons. Karty would be a welcomed addition to Detroit.

Round 7 pick 246 Issac Rex TE: The last pick of the draft and I gave it to the Tight end position. James Mitchell has been a disappointment and Brock Wright wasn't good last season either. Luckily the Lions have LaPorta but it would be nice to have a solid TE behind him. First off Issac Rex is just a Dan Campbell name but he is also 6'6 255. He had 12 touchdowns in 2020 and 6 in 2022. He is a solid red zone option and he can be a pretty good blocker. He is someone who has solid potential.
