Final Mock draft for the Detroit Lions

Writer's picture: analytic1929analytic1929

Lions trade with the Atlanta Falcons where they traded pick 43 and pick 74 in exchange for the Lions pick 29.

Round 2 pick 43 Chop Robinson DE Penn State: Robinson is such a fun player he has a great burst and has showcased strength as well. Robinson led the Big 10 with a pass rush win rate of 20.8% just .2% less than Florida State's Jared Verse. Robinson reminds me of a more raw version of Harold Landry and he tested very similar to Landry and they have similar measurables. Robinson would be a welcomed player in Detroit

Round 2 pick 61 Tez Walker WR UNC. The Lions get themselves the big bodied WR that they need. Walker is 6'2 and 193 pounds and he ran a 4.36 40 yard dash. Walker was a vertical player at UNC and even is tied 5th in contested catches and 7th in contested catch % in the entire draft. Walker has a better-contested % than Polk,Burton, Pearsall, and even Marvin Harrison.

Tez killed the combine and showed some elite potential. He can be a true X for the Lions.

Round 3 pick 73 Max Melton CB Rutgers: Melton is a great physical CB. He had a good combine as well. He only allowed 252 yards last season and had 3 interceptions. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xkhfkXu46cU&pp=ygUVbWF4IG1lbHRvbiBoaWdobGlnaHRz Melton is the type of player the Lions like a player who is both fast and physical. He would fit right in.

Round 3 pick 74 Christain Mahogany OG Boston College: Mahogany allowed 0 sacks and 0 QB hits and only 7 hurries. Mahogany is great in the run as well. Mahogany had a good combine as well and can be a force at the next level.

Round 3 pick 92 Dominick Puni OT Kansas: Puni is a future investment he played all of 2022 at LG and he played great at tackle this season where he allowed 0 sacks and 0 hits and only 8 hurries. The Lions need to plan to live without Decker and Puni also gives some versatility of being able to play OG.

Note in free agency I have the Lions signing these players:

-Christian Wilkins DT Miami

-Nate Landman ILB Atlanta

-Jordan Fuller S Rams

-Evan Brown C Seattle

-Extending Jared Goff

-Extending Amon Ra St Brown
