Round 1 pick 29 Kool-Aid McKinstry CB Alabama: Kool-Aid is a beast he hardly allowed any yards last season and only allowed one touchdown. He has production. He has solid size and weight. He has experience against the elite of the elite at college. Kool-Aid is meant to be a Lion after all his name is Kool-Aid!
Round 2 pick pick 61 Kris Jenkins DT Michigan: Jenkins is elite vs the run he had the highest run stop rate according to PFF and he had 54 tackles. Jenkins is the best fit for 5 tech. The Lions lack a 3rd DT to add to their rotation and with the signing of DJ Reader. McNeil would resume his role as the 3T Jenkins would be the 5T and Reader would be the NT. Jenkins has the potential to develop into one of the best 5 techs in football and Jenkins could still possibly develop into a respectable pass rusher.
Round 3 pick 73 Javon Baker WR UCF: Javon Baker has some insane numbers to his name https://x.com/AustinAbbottFF/status/1774458982884671580 his numbers even compare to Puka. Baker has production in both YAC and in contested catches. Baker gives the Lions a WR who can make the tough catches but still can make plays after the catch.
(Note I could also see the Lions take Brenden Rice or Tez Walker if Walker falls.)
Round 5 pick 164 Zak Zinter OG Michigan: Zinter is an underrated OG in this draft he was PFF's highest-graded OG in the Big 10 he only allowed 0 sacks and 5 hurries. Zinter also has a nice size at 6'5 and 309 pounds with 33.5 arm length and 9.3 size hands. Zinter has mauler all over his tape as well. Zinter could develop into a starter and could compete with Colby Sorsdahl in the future.
Round 6 201 overall Myles Cole EDGE Texas Tech: Cole is raw but he has quite the ceiling he is 6'6 278 pounds with an arm length of 36.875 and a hand size of 9.875. Cole has been playing college ball since 2018 (23 years old.) Cole may not ever amount to his potential but in the 6th round, he is worth the flyer.
Round 6 205 overall Joshua Karty K Stanford: The Lions need a kicker and even if the Lions sign Michigan Panthers standout Jake Bates the Lions should still have competition. Karty is 7-10 in the last two seasons from 50+ and he made 100% of his kicks in 2022 and followed up with another good season with 85%.
Round 7 pick 249 overall Frank Crum OT Wyoming: The Lions again beef up their O-Line. the Lions need a Matt Nelson replacement for their swing tackle spot and Crum gives that plus he can be a solid backup with some potential. Crum had a near-perfect RAS score and he can play both tackle spots. He did allow 4 sacks last season but only 4 QB hits. The Lions could benefit from Crum and Lions O-Line Hank Fraley could develop him pretty well and would love to work with him.
