First, let's start with NFL Free agents candidate #1 DJ Chark WR from the Jags he has great size 6'4 198 pounds, and runs a 4.34 40 yard dash time. Chark has dealt with injury issues the last two years playing 13 games in 2020 and only 4 this last season none of them should be reoccurring injuries or any that should stop him from playing well. Chark in 2019 had 1,008 yards 13.8 yards 104 rating and 8 touchdowns 2020 he wasn't as productive due to injury but produced 706 yards 13.3 yards a catch but his rating did go down with a 76 rating due to 5 ints thrown his way but he did have 5 touchdowns thrown his way. This is a good film review on what could make Chark a good WR https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LuMB62fDUoE&t=393s and since he has some injury history and never had insane numbers he shouldn't be too expensive to add and gives the Lions a real number 1 Wr option who is also a deep threat with speed.

Candidate #2 Casey Hayward CB Las Vegas Raiders. Casey Hayward is an established vet while he is older at 32 he is still producing at a high level he allowed 0 TDs in 258 coverage snaps per PFF https://twitter.com/PFF/status/1452696546722598917?s=20&t=i5RapbLa8qC6hwAM0RcF7w and ended the season with a 57% completion percentage 7.6 yards a target 3 touchdowns allowed 91.9 rating when thrown his way per PFR Casey Hayward Stats | Pro-Football-Reference.com he also had 46 tackles 1 int and 9 PD. he would make the perfect add a vet CB to compete Jeff Okudah Ifeatu Melifounwu and Amani O for CB positions and since he is older the Lions wouldn't have to pay the farm to grab him.
(Hayward going to stop a pass while on the Chargers)
Candidate #3 Trevor Siemian QB New Orleans Saints
Both Lion QBs are free agents and Tim Boyle is horrible Trevor has connections with Campbell and Glenn with Trevor being in NO since 2020 Trevor is a good backup who shouldn't be expensive to add for Detroit. Trevor Siemian Stats | ESPN
(Trevor laughing with NO teammate Jameis Winston)
Candidate #4 Tavan Bryan DT/DE Jaguars
The Lions revived Charles Harris this last season and like guys with something to prove Tavan Bryan is a great candidate to add he hasn't worked out with the Jags but he is athletic having a 6.80 combine grade per NFL.com Taven Bryan Draft and Combine Prospect Profile | NFL.com with good size 6'5 291 he will be a cheap one year guy who has connections to Todd Wash the Detroit Lions D-Line coach while Wash was the DC with the Jags.
(Tavan Bryan getting ready during a Jaguars game)
The Detroit Lions will resign Tracy Walker Scott Daly Jack Fox Shaun Dion Hamilton JRM CJ Moore Josh Woods and Evan Brown. I don't think Charles Harris will be resigned we have Roemo Okwara already and the Lions staff has Julian Okwara a young EDGE who the staff likes plus odds are the Lions draft a EDGE early.
2022 Detroit Lions mock draft no trades.
Round 1 pick 2 Aidan Hutchinson EDGE Michgan: Aidan Hutchinson is the pick for the Lions with the 2nd overall with good size 6'6 265 his stats have improved every year since joining Michigan but he really exploded in 2021 with a pass rush win rate of 25.4% per PFF https://twitter.com/BenFennell_NFL/status/1489273760423325705?s=20&t=r7Pf-lPqnZmfcM5sAUYZzQ he lead the Big Ten in pressure rate over the likes of George Karlaftis, Arnold Ebikete, and Jacob Panasiuk. https://twitter.com/CFBFilmRoom/status/1445769566488039425?s=20&t=r7Pf-lPqnZmfcM5sAUYZzQ broke a record of most pressures in a game with 15 vs OSU to pair that up with 3 sacks he lead college football in pressure rate for most of the season. https://t.co/VYvvZbAFqQ Aidan also lead college football in pressure rate for most of the season. https://t.co/VYvvZbAFqQ Aidan is also versatile being able to play with his hands in the dirt and standing up while also being able to play both a 4-3 and 3-4. Aidan also can get bigger faster and stronger and was already listed number 2 on the Freaks List. https://www.maizenbrew.com/football/2021/8/10/22617296/daily-brews-aidan-hutchinson-named-no-2-freak-in-college-football

Round 1 pick 32 (or 31) from LA: Daxton Hill FS/SS Michigan
The Lions need help in their secondary Daxton Hill addresses that first off he checks off a lot of boxes the first couple being size and athletic ability. Daxton Hill is 6'0 192 and is rumored to run a 4.3 40 time https://www.nfldraftbuzz.com/Player/Daxton-Hill-DB-Michigan this helps him in the next category versatility. Daxton Hill can play both safety spots which is what Aubrey Pleasent has said the Detroit Lions like in their safties "Because of the way we play defensively, we really ask our safeties to do a lot of things not only in the run fits and pass coverage, blitzing, playing in the middle of the field, our half-field safety,” Pleasant said. “So you need some versatility, you got to have some really really good leadership qualities, and you got to have some ball production.” Detroit Lions DB coach: Tracy Walker had ‘good’ season, but ‘vast room for improvement’ - Pride Of Detroit Daxton Hill can play both safety spots and slot corner. Daxton Hill has also been productive having 69 tackles 0.5 sacks 2 ints 8 PD 71% completion percentage 1 score allowed and a 81.5 rating and the year before that he had allowed 13 of 24 passes for 181 yards 0 scores 1 int and a 61.3 rating per PFF and ESPN Daxton Hill Stats, News, Bio | ESPN 2022 NFL Mock Draft Simulator | PFF. The Lions gladly go back to back Michigan players here.
(Daxton Hill lines up vs a WR vs Indiana)
Round 2 pick 34 Leo Chenal: Leo Chenal is my personal draft crush for the Detroit Lions with his production and ability of both rushing the passer and being a run-stuffer he was great at those 2 areas having 10 sacks 26 pressures 2 FF and 96 tackles and 63 defensive stops per PFF https://twitter.com/PFF_Macri/status/1489660021457698817?s=20&t=THC7fXmDXcfPM6P8B7bTqg he has good size for his role of run and passes rusher linebacker role with 6'2 260 he uses his hands well and he has great power here is a clip of him vs Tyler Lindbaum arguably the best center in college football as an example of this. https://twitter.com/natech32/status/1489757577281953793?s=20&t=wnd8N7nWTQDNeqJvVGbMSA Leo is a great take on linebacker but he does have coverage issues but alas our run defense needs help and we need a pass rush to help our corners plus there is another linebacker I have the Lions grabbing that will help in that area. Leo was also ranked 22nd player on the freaks list out of 100 players.
(Chenal in a game for the Badgers)
Round 3 pick 66 Khalil Shakir WR Boise State: Despite the fact that the Lions signed Chark they still need WR help Shakir is a versatile guy playing 93 outside snaps and 320 slot snaps in college per PFF. 2022 NFL Mock Draft Simulator | PFF Shakir has solid size 6'0 190 pounds. Shakir also has some great numbers to his name with 2708 yards and 20 rec TDs the last 3 years but he isn't just some normal WR he averages 6.6 yards after the catch per PFF and has 4 rushing TDs per ESPN talk about production! https://twitter.com/BenFennell_NFL/status/1487103704192925699?s=20&t=iMGcuXQUFQncIgzn-XdfPw He is a perfect fit for the offense and Jared Goff is a good route runner with an ability to make insane catches and is a YAC demon a perfect addition. Shakir also runs a 4.48 40 time
(Shakir making a play vs San Diego State)
Round 3 Comp pick 101 Troy Andersen ILB Montana State: The Lions are not bringing back Alex Anzalone and are left with only Derrick Barnes and JRM neither have been really productive and while the Lions added Chenal they need more talent Derrick Barnes season was lackluster and is unproven and Chenal is unproven Anderson provides another nice ILB to add into that young mix. Andersen has nice size 6'4 235 32 1/4 long arms has a wingspan of 77 5/8 inches with 9 3/8 inches hands. he is good in coverage but is a good run stuffer having 112 solo tackles and 33 assisted tackles and 14.0 tackles for loss and fills his gaps pretty dang well. His coverage numbers are 7 passes defended and 2 ints. He also was an All American QB at one point. All of this information is per Big Blue View 2022 NFL Draft prospect profile - Troy Andersen, LB, Montana State - Big Blue View
(Troy Andersen making a tackle vs Southern Utah)
Round 5 pick 175 Decobie Durant CB South Carolina State: The Lions need themselves a new slot corner and Decobie Durant has the size 5'11 180 he had a 48% completion percentage 3 ints 65.5 rating in 2020 he had 4 ints and a 36.4 rating and in 2019 he had 3 ints and a 23.4 rating while getting targeted 66 times he only allowed a a 33% completion percentage this is a shut down corner the Lions could add to cover the slot. He was also MEAC DPOY CB Decobie Durant per South Carolina football twitter https://twitter.com/SCState_Fb/status/1468305234938245124?s=20&t=rpHpXhKZuqtOj2N4uqZrKg

(Brown protecting Matt Corral from a Memphis pass rush)
Round 6 pick 216 Leon O'Neal SS/FS Texas A&M: The Lions will need another safety to back up their young duo Neal is a hard-hitting safety who you can trust in the run game with good size and good ceiling with some solid cover skills with 4 ints and 12 PD with a solid amount with 40 or more tackles the last 3 years per ESPN Leon O'Neal Jr. Stats, News, Bio | ESPN
(O'Neal in a game vs NC State)
Round 7 pick 230 Conner Heyward TE/FB/RB Michigan State: The Lions seem to be in love with Heyward https://twitter.com/DetroitOnLion/status/1490060241190494214?s=20&t=SEeEETDgvBIoyp1NU9t1iw Conner is what the Lions have been wanting Cabinda to be a super back with him playing all three that was listed his production was everywhere but solid everywhere.
